COMAC C919

The COMAC C919 is a narrow-body twinjet airliner developed by the state-owned Chinese manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC). Conceived as a direct challenger to the dominant Western duopoly of the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX families, the single-aisle aircraft represents China's most ambitious stride toward domestic commercial aerospace independence.

Powered by CFM International LEAP-1C turbofan engines and featuring a conventional aluminum-alloy airframe structure, the C919 typically accommodates between 158 and 168 passengers in a standard multi-class or single-class layout. Although its core type certification is currently managed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the aircraft has steadily expanded its footprint across major domestic carriers like China Eastern Airlines, Air China, and China Southern Airlines.
