Getting To & From Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is located roughly midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. Public transit options include the DART Orange Line light rail, which connects Terminal A directly to downtown Dallas for a $3 fare. Trinity Metro's TEXRail provides service from Terminal B westward into downtown Fort Worth. For road transport, app-based rideshares like Uber and Lyft as well as traditional airport taxis operate from designated zones on the lower arrival levels of all terminals. A 24-hour Rental Car Center is accessible via dedicated on-airport shuttle buses.

DFW features five interconnected horseshoe-shaped passenger terminals: A, B, C, D, and E. Terminal D serves as the primary international gateway. American Airlines operates heavily out of Terminals A, B, C, and D, while Terminal E handles the majority of other domestic and international carriers. Inter-terminal transfers are exceptionally fast via the Skylink automated people mover, which runs airside every two minutes and takes a maximum of nine minutes between the most distant points. For travelers outside security, the landside Terminal Link shuttle bus connects all terminals.

DFW Airport is operational 24 hours a day, though individual airline ticket counters, security checkpoints, and concession hours vary. At least one TSA security checkpoint remains active during overnight hours.
