For rail transit, the Regionalbahnhof (located underground beneath Terminal 1) handles S-Bahn lines S8 and S9, running frequently to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) in roughly 11 minutes. The separate Fernbahnhof (Long-Distance Station) is a short covered walk from Terminal 1 and links the airport directly to national and international destinations via ICE and IC high-speed trains. Taxis and ride-hailing vehicles operate around the clock from designated areas outside the arrivals forecourts, reaching downtown Frankfurt in about 20 to 25 minutes. Regional buses, such as lines 61, 77, and 58, also connect the terminals to surrounding districts.
