Getting To & From Zürich Airport
Zürich Airport is directly linked to the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) network. SBB trains and S-Bahn lines depart from the underground railway station (located beneath the Airport Center) to Zürich Main Station approximately every 5 to 10 minutes, with a rapid journey time of 10 to 15 minutes. Single tickets cost roughly CHF 7 (covering three zones: 110 and 121). Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals area, with fares to the city center ranging between CHF 45 and CHF 70 depending on traffic, taking 10 to 20 minutes. Tram line 10 also connects the airport directly to downtown Zürich, taking about 35 minutes.

Gate E is located in a standalone satellite terminal linked to the main complex by the Skymetro, an underground automated people mover that makes the trip in roughly three minutes. Inter-terminal transfer times generally range from 5 to 10 minutes when moving via the Skymetro to Dock E, or 10 to 20 minutes for standard walking routes between adjacent piers.

Zürich Airport's terminal buildings are technically accessible 24 hours, though landside commercial shops and airside dining options largely close by 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM. Commercial flight movements are strictly regulated by a night curfew, prohibiting scheduled arrivals and departures late at night (generally between 11:30 PM and 6:00 AM local time).
