Alaska Airlines has locked in the launch date for its historic Greek expansion, setting a May 2027 takeoff for its new transatlantic routes. When flights commence, the carrier will officially secure two major milestones: it'll be the first airline ever to connect Seattle directly with Athens, and the sole operator offering nonstop service from the entire West Coast straight to Greece's capital.

It's a massive play for the Seattle-based carrier as it stretches further into Europe. West Coast travelers won't have to deal with annoying East Coast layovers or tedious European connections just to hit the Acropolis. They'll just board a Seattle bird and wake up in the Aegean.
