Delta Air Lines and American Express are switching up their playbook this fall. Between August 27 and November 4, the pair is rolling out a fresh slate of limited-time welcome offers—and if you're eyeing the consumer Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card, the headliner isn't what you'd expect.

Instead of dumping a mountain of points into your account, Delta is giving away actual plane tickets. Spend $10,000 within six months on the consumer Reserve card, and you'll bag two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates alongside 50,000 bonus miles. Those certificates work for round-trip flights in Delta Comfort or Main Cabin across the lower 48 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. You have to book at least 21 days out and cover up to $80 per person in government taxes and fees, but you won't have to dodge any blackout dates.

For business owners, it's a different story. The Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business Card sticks to straight miles, dangling 200,000 bonus miles once you hit $20,000 in purchases over six months. That's the card’s single biggest mileage offer of the year so far.

Where the Mid-Tier Offers Stand

The lower-fee cards are getting a boost, too. If you apply for the consumer Delta SkyMiles Platinum, you could see targeted bonuses reaching up to 90,000 miles and a $300 statement credit after spending $4,000 in six months. On the commercial side, the Platinum Business Card delivers 100,000 bonus miles after you drop $8,000 on purchases over that same window.

Down at the entry level, the math stays compelling. Applicants for the consumer Delta SkyMiles Gold card are seeing targeted offers up to 80,000 bonus miles plus a $250 statement credit for spending $3,000 in six months. Prefer the Gold Business Card? That one offers 90,000 bonus miles after $6,000 in spend across six months.

What You Keep Year-Round

These welcome deals come right on the heels of permanent perks Delta and Amex added for their 30th anniversary—all without raising annual fees. Basic Card Members now score a second free checked bag on domestic Delta-operated flights, while Gold cardholders get a rideshare statement credit starting after their first card renewal.

The mainstay benefits remain firmly in place. Gold, Platinum, and Reserve cardholders still get TakeOff 15, which takes 15 percent off award flights booked through Delta’s website or app. Elite hunters retain their $2,500 MQD Headstart per eligible card alongside ongoing spend-based MQD Boosts, while Platinum and Reserve cardholders stay eligible for complimentary upgrades right behind Medallion elites.

At 30,000 feet, you can grab complimentary premium snacks on flights over 900 miles through October 31, 2026. Just connect to Delta Sync Wi-Fi in flight, pull up the offer under the Delta Amex tab, and flash your physical card to a flight attendant. Buying drinks or meals on board? You'll still get 20 percent back as a statement credit.

Perks That Pay Off on the Ground

Perks don't stop at the boarding gate. Link your Reserve card to Resy, and you unlock Global Dining Access at participating restaurants across the country. You can also trade miles for exclusive access through SkyMiles Experiences, including a fresh Card Member Collection launching in September.
