Delta Cargo is finally killing off that routine headache. The airline just added a five-day flexible search tool to its direct booking site, handing logistics managers a five-day snapshot in a single click.

That tweak makes Delta one of the first major U.S. passenger carriers to bake multi-day visibility straight into its own freight platform. Instead of checking dates one by one like it's 2004, shippers can now scan five straight days of flight options on a single screen.

Built Around Actual Forwarder Complaints

Airlines talk endlessly about digital modernization, but Delta says this update came directly from shippers tired of burning time on dead-end search queries. Forwarders simply wanted an easy way to compare nearby dates without constantly resetting their criteria.

Sebastian Kunze, Delta's director of revenue management, said the wider window lets customers evaluate alternate routings on the spot and lock in real-time fixes. Troy Easterday, who heads digital transformation and technology for the cargo arm, echoed that, pointing out that the tool helps shippers map schedules quickly and lock down space with genuine certainty.

Live Rates, Real Space, Zero Guesswork

Under the hood, the feature ties straight into Delta's core systems through software from Revenue Technology Services. A five-day query doesn't just pull up empty flight numbers. It returns live schedules, verified cargo capacity, dynamic pricing, and individual customer rate and allotment markers across the entire window.

Shippers aren't forced onto the airline's proprietary site, either. Delta's third-party links across cargo.one, CargoWise, and Freightos remain untouched. But for teams logging directly into deltacargo.com, having five days of inventory laid out at once cuts out the friction—and pulls air cargo booking a step closer to modern flight shopping.
