Frontier Airlines Expands Map With Four New 2026 Routes

Frontier Airlines is adding four non-stop routes for late 2026, linking major U.S. cities directly to Florida, California, and Puerto Rico. Starting in November and December, the Denver-based budget carrier will roll out daily and multi-weekly flights connecting Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Juan. With introductory one-way tickets starting at $69, it's a cheap way to lock down warm-weather travel before the year wraps up.

The Four New Routes

On November 20, 2026, daily non-stop flights kick off between Denver International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. That same day, Frontier opens a cross-country route between Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, running daily both ways.

Travelers in Kansas City get a direct pipeline to central Florida, too. Four weekly flights will run between Kansas City International Airport and Orlando International Airport starting November 20.

Heading to the Caribbean? The longest route of the batch launches right before the holidays. Daily service begins December 17, 2026, between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Josh Flyr, Frontier's vice president of network and operations design, said the additions aim to keep travel affordable on popular leisure routes. It fits into a broader expansion across major U.S. cities, following budget moves like when Frontier Returns to Oakland With $29 Las Vegas Flights.

The Catch Behind Those Promo Fares

To celebrate the launch, introductory one-way fares start at $69 for Kansas City–Orlando and $99 for the Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Houston–San Juan sectors.

Locking in those prices takes quick timing. You'll need to book by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on July 20, 2026. A 21-day advance purchase is mandatory, with deal rates valid for select non-stop travel dates through January 4, 2027. You don't have to buy round-trip tickets, though seats are limited.

Don't count on using those promotional rates during peak holiday rushes. Thanksgiving blackouts apply from November 20–25 and November 27–30, 2026. You'll also face blackout dates around Christmas and New Year's: December 23–24, December 26–27, December 30–31, 2026, and January 2–3, 2027.

Cabin Changes and Loyalty Perks

Beyond adding destinations, the airline is reworking its cabin experience under an initiative called 'The New Frontier.' That includes UpFront Plus seating in the first two rows, where you're guaranteed extra legroom, extra elbow room, and an empty middle seat next to your window or aisle spot.

Later in 2026, Frontier plans to introduce an actual First Class seating option, aiming for more space and comfort while keeping low-cost ticket pricing intact.

Frequent flyers are dealing with a revamped loyalty program, Frontier Miles. Members earn a baseline of 10 miles per dollar spent on airline products, scaling up to 20X for top-tier elites. Reaching elite status takes 10,000 points, opening up perks like priority boarding, free seat selection, and free checked or carry-on bags depending on your tier. Families with elite status can pool miles for free, and top-tier members get unlimited companion travel—meaning you can bring a different person along on every single Frontier flight.
