How Embraer Upended Regional Flying

When Embraer first started drafting the E-Jet family, skeptics doubted a dedicated regional jet could punch above its weight against standard mainline narrowbodies. They didn't stay skeptical for long. By pairing a true five-abreast cabin with the cost efficiency of a smaller airframe, Embraer ditched the cramped misery of older regional aircraft.
